2010 Mexico Holiday Calendar

16th September is celebrated as the Independence Day in Mexico. This day honors the anniversary of the beginning of Father Hidalgo’s revolt. Every year the celebration begins on 15th September, at 11 pm in Mexico

This Mexican Flag was officially adopted on 16 September 1968. 24th February is celebrated as Flag Day in Mexico, honoring the Mexican Flag. The Mexican Flag consists of three vertical stripes of green, white and red color. In the middle of the flag, on the white band there is the National Coat of Arms. The green is on the left side of the flag symbolizes independence, White is in the middle of the flag symbolizes religion and red is on the right side of the flag symbolizes union. The Coat of Arms features the Mexico eagle holding a snake in its mouth and perching on a cactus that has risen from a rock above a lake.
